Functions of the Amazigh proverb in the speech of the Middle Atlas - case of the Ait M'guild

Abstract

The proverb is one of the components of oral literature that fulfills many functions in
Amazigh society; it underlines mentalities, reveals beliefs and promotes certain behaviors.
This article entitled: "Functions of the Amazigh proverb in the speaking of the Middle
Atlas -case of the Ait M'guild -" is a contribution to the collection, description and
safeguarding of the linguistic and cultural heritage of the Amazigh language characterized
by its richness and its diversity. In this article, we have proposed to show one of the aspects
relating to the Amazigh proverb, namely its functions and values in the speaking of the
Middle Atlas -case of the Aït M'guild- and submit them to analysis
